We are alive because life force is flowing through us. Life force flows
within the physical body though pathways called chakras, meridians and
nadis. It also flows around us in a field of energy called the aura.
Life force nourishes the organs and cells of the body, supporting them
in their vital functions. When this flow of life force is disrupted, it
causes diminished function in one or more of the organs and tissues of
the physical body.
The
life force is responsive to thoughts and feelings. It becomes disrupted when
we accept, either consciously or unconsciously, negative thoughts or
feelings about ourselves. These negative thoughts and feelings attach
themselves to the energy field and cause a disruption in the flow of life
force. This diminishes the vital function of the organs and cells of the
physical body.
Reiki
heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging
them with positive energy. It raises the vibratory level of the energy field
in and around the physical body where the negative thoughts and feelings are
attached. This causes the negative energy to break apart and fall away. In
so doing, Reiki clears, straightens and heals the energy pathways, thus
allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.
Information obtained from The International Center for Reiki Training:
What is Reiki Healing?
Reiki is the name given to a system of naural healing which originated in
ancient Tibet and was rediscovered in the 1870s by a Japanese monk named Mikao
Usui. Master Usui developed this system of healing from ancient Tantric Buddhist
teachings after many years of study and meditation. He spent the rest of his
life practicing and teaching Reiki.
What does Reiki do?
Reiki when activated and applied for the purpose of healing, addresses body,
mind and spirit. It accelerates the body's ability to heal physical ailments and
opens the mind and spirit to the causes of disease and pain.
What can Reiki treat?
Reiki is helpful in most conditions including chronic ailments and is beneficial
in releiving pain and stress.
Treatment
A treatment may last up to 1 hour and is carried out with the recipient fully
clothed, and normally lying on a massage table. The therapist then places
his/her hands in different positions on or near the recipient's body. It is a
non-threatening therapy, gentle, but powerful and ideal for everyone no matter
what their circumstance.
Learning Reiki One
Students are initiated or attuned to the energy by a Reiki Master and are taught
a series of techniques for healing themselves, others, animals and plants.
Because the energy is drawn through the practitioner, there is very little to
learn, so the First degree can be taught in a two day workshop.
Learning Reiki Two
This course is taught at least two months after attending First Degree Reiki and
is know as the practitioner's degree. Students learn sacred sounds and symbols
which acts as cosmic keys, unlocking specific energies which enhance the healing
practices. Advanced tools and techniques are taught which serve to extend the
role of the practitioner into both channel and healer. This course is also
taught over two days.
Reiki Mastership
This is for those who wish to use Reiki to it's fullest potential. It is taught
in two separate modules, Reiki Master Practitioner and then Reiki Master
Teacher. Both modules consist of four days tuition held over four months and
include a rigorous home study program. The RMP teaches the Tibetan and Usui
Master symbols and how to intergrate these energies into your practice -
including a profound empowerment exercise, whilst the RMT covers the attunement
process, teaching/training techniques and how to run Reiki Workshops.
